It Doesn''t Get Any Easier Than This!!!!
We spent this week at the beach! Doesn't get much better than that in my book. I L-O-V-E the beach!!!!!
It seemed like every day on our way to the beach I needed to stop by the store for something. snacks, water, ice..... it's always something. My swimsuit is one of those dress looking ones. I had no beach cover up and just throwing shorts on underneath looked a little strange....like I was a 2 year old picking out my own clothes. So the other day I decided it was time to make a cover up. I didn't want to go buy fabric and I remembered about this box of shirred fabric I scored at a yard sale. So I grabbed it and made my cover up. It's nothing fancy, but it serves it purposes and it took about 3 minutes to make.
Here's my pre-shirred fabric.
Bust measurement - 1" = how wide to cut fabric.
Fold in half widthwise and sew the long edge.
I didn't even bother hemming the bottom (SHHHH!!!!) It won't fray so I didn't worry about it.
Then put it on and head out for the beach!!! Don't forget to stop and get the ice.

Daddy's Gifts
I knew Father's Day was coming up and yet it managed to sneak up on me. I'm usually really good about having the cards and gifts ahead of time. Not this year. I was giving the kids their bath Saturday evening and realized Father's Day was the next morning. YIKES!!!! I got them cleaned up, dressed , and then grabbed some paper and my camera and we whipped up a gift for Daddy.
Are you curios what we did with paper and a camera
to make a gift???
to make a gift???
I'll show you.
I loved how this one turned out so much I had to make another one. I couldn't resist.
This one is my favorite. It took FOREVER to think of all these words that define Daddy, but it was worth every minute. We wanted him to know we appreciate all that he does for us and everything he is to us. I think this does just that.
If you want to make one of these and need a tutorial just ask. I would be glad to help out!!!
This really makes a great gift. I'm thinking about making some for family this Christmas. You could. make it any word you want....LOVE , FAMILY, NOEL, HAPPY, a name...Papa, Pawpaw, Nana, Mawmaw, Pop, Mom, Mama, Baby. The possibilities are endless!!!!!
I know my parents would LOVE something like this! I would love to recieve something like this!!!

I am so glad to be back!!!!!
It's been a while, but I am back and ready to get busy!
It has been crazy busy here. We moved in with my In-Laws while my husband finishes school. Then we were off to Alabama for 2 weeks for our nieces graduation and to spend some time wnith family we haven't seen since Christmas. We got home and then headed to the beach for a week and my parents came down from St. Louis for the weekend. The kids were so excited to see them! Then 2 of our nieces came to NC for 2 weeks and we spent a wonderful weekend with them at the beach. As you can see it's been go, go, go.
After all that this is how we ALL felt!!!
Now we are rested and things are getting back to normal.
I still don't have all of my sewing stuff organized again yet, but I'm gonna start my negelected machine up and go to town with some projects that have been wandering aroung in my head for a while now.
