Scrap Buster Saturday: BUBBLE REVAMP

For today's scrap buster I am going to upcycle a bubble for my little girl. I raided my scrap bin to turn the bubble into this dress.
.jpg)
Here is the buble I started with. I love the smocking on it!
First I cut the bottom off.
Measure 4" from the bottom and cut.
Next I raided my scrap tub for a coordinating fabric.
I cut a 4" wide strip the same length as the strip I just cut off.
I sewed the ends my pink strip of fabric together.
Sew the pink fabric to the top of the bubble.
Next sew the 4" strip you the bubble to the bottom of the pink fabric.
Iron all the seams down.
For the ruffle cut a 3" strip of coordinating fabric.
Fold it in half and iron.
Gather the strip and the sew it on the bottom of your dress.

And The Winner Is......
Drum roll please!!!!!

Peek-A-Boo Tulle
You asked for the tutorial so here it is.
Supplies Needed:
Dress or skirt with linig
Tulle
Scissors or rotary cutter
Thread
Sewing machine
Here is the dress I chose.
Measure the width of the bottom of the lining.
Mine is 24 1/2" long on the front and another 24 1/2" long on the back equalling 49"
Double that number and that's how long your tulle needs to be. So mine needs to be 98" long total.
Cut strips of tulle 6" wide and enough to equal the length you need.
Lay the strips one on top of the other.
Fold the tulle in half so it is 3" wide.
Gather the tulle.
Pin the tulle to the bottom of the lining.
When you get to the end of a strip of tulle just overlap the begining of the next strip.
Sew.
It really does make a difference!!!!
Here is the before.
Don't forget about the GIVEAWAY!!!!

Designer Details
I am sooo lucky to have a little girl that loves dresses. Because I love to see my little princess all frilled up!!! This dress I made from a New Look pattern was plain so I needed to give it a little frill. Not overkill just a little femininity added to it. (By the way I like frilly overkill on my princess) I love. LOVE, love how it turned out!!!! And so did Aiyanna. She cried when we got home from church and she had to take it off. How sweet is that?
So all I did was add some tulle to the bottom of the lining making sure it was long enough to peek out.
It really does makes a big difference!!!
Do you want a tutorial for adding the tulle or do you already know how to do it???
