It's A Cover Up!!!
I love my camera!!!
The only thing I don't like is the camera strap.
It has CANNON printed on it nice a big for the whole world to see.
The back of the strap seems a little rubbery to me and bothers my neck.
So last month I decided to make a cover for it.
I know there are many tutorials out there for these, but this one is a little different.
It is padded and fully lined.
It is super simple and quick to make!
Supplies Needed:
- 2 Fabrics (1/8 yard each)
- Fusible Fleece
- Scissors or Rotary Cutter and Cutting Mat
- Thread
- Sewing Machine
Cut rectangles 23" x 3".
Cut 1 from the fusible fleece.
Cut 1 from the outer fabric.
Cut 3 from the lining fabric.
Iron the fusible fleece onto the back of one of the lining fabrics.
Grab another lining fabric and lay it on top. Make sure WRONG sides are facing and Pin.
Grab the last lining piece and the outer fabric. Lay them WRONG sides together and pin.
Serge or sew down the long edge using 1/4" seam allowance.
Now on the padded piece sew a straight line down the middle. Then stitch a line on each side of the middle one. This will keep the strap from bubbling once it's on the strap.
Lay the 2 pieces on top of each other. The outer fabric should be facing the other piece that is padded.
Sew down one long edge. After it's sewn it should look like this.
Next serge or zig zag stitch the short edges.
Fold each short edge up 1/2" on each short end.
Sew.
Fold it in half so the outer fabric is inside. Sew the open long end.
Now is the hardest step. Turn the strap right side out.
