Bittersweet
He has been so excited about going to school! We pre-registered him at the end of last school year. He thought he was going to start school the next day. He has asked me many times when he was going to go to school. And he very proudly tells everyone he is in Kindergarten. Now that they day was finally here he was excited, nervous, and scared all at the.same time Truth is I felt all those things too. I am so excited for him to start to his educational joiurney. I hope he loves school as much as I did at that age.
He did not want to go in the classroom this morning. I asked him if he wanted to open the door and he looked at me and said "Mommy, I'm scared". I tried to reassure him that he would be ok.

When we left he seemed to be doing pretty good. He put his stuff in his cubby and was talking to his teacher.

I told everyone I would be doing a happy dance the first day of school, but I really thought I would cry.
Well, I didn't do either. I'm holding back the tears, and there is a semi-happy dance today.
As much as it drives me crazy I kinda miss Dakota talking my head off all day long. It is so quiet at home today!
Aiyanna was totally to pieces this morning. She fell apart when we left Dakota at school. She keeps telling me she wants to go get her brother. I'm sure that won't last long though :o)
