Miniature Quilt

I was going through my scrap tub yesterday trying to decide what I wanted to make.  Aiyanna  saw a mint green Minky Dot fabric and said "oh, my baby needs this blanket." She wrapped it around her baby and carried it around all morning long.  So at nap time after she was asleep I grabbed that blankie and turned it into a little quilt for her baby doll.  She was so happy!

SUPPLIES:
  • fabric square 14" x 14"
  • About 1/2 yard of second fabric
  • bias tape
  • thread
  • 18" x 18" square of batting or fleece
I cut the second fabric into an 18" square
 2 strips that are 2" x 14"
 and 2 strips that are 2" x 18"

Right sides facing sew the 2" x 14" strips to opposite sides of the minky square.
Then sew the 2 longer strips on the remaining sides.
You just made your quilt top.

Now you are going to layer your fabrics.
Lay second fabric right side down.
Lay the batting on top of that.
Then lay the quilt top right side facing up on the top.

Next I stitched in the seam around the minky fabric through all 3 layers.

Pin and sew bias tape around the edges and you're finished.

Now it's time to snuggle the baby doll.

Night, night baby!!!!
