Super Easy Bib with Sleeves!!!

This bib only took 20 minutes to make!!!

It is so simple!!!!

This cute shirt was given to me. I loved it , but it was stained and has a hole in the front. It's been sitting in my scrap box just waiting for me to do something with it. I was doing laundry and spraying stain remover on my daughters shirt sleeves and was thinking I need a bib for her that has long sleeves.....the light bulb went off and I remember this shirt and that's how this was born.

Supplies Needed:

  • Cute shirt with snap or button back (I used a shirt the size she is wearing and it works ok, but I would suggest using a shirt a size or two bigger then they wear)

  • Scrap fabrric

  • Bias tape

  • Scissors

  • Thread

Turn the shirt so the back is up and cut in an upside down U shape. I cut between the first and second snap so I could just snap the bib on.

Here is what it should look like after you cut the upside down U out of the back.

Next I took a bib I had and laid it on the shirt and cut the curve.

I cut my scrap piece of fabric the same way laying the shirt over the scrap fabric and cutting.

Next sew bias tape to the straight edge of the scrap piece of fabric.

Put the scrap/pocket piece on the bottom front and then pin bias tape to the raw edges and sew.

You're all done!!!! See how quick and easy that was?!?!?!

  2. Are you kidding me! This is TOTALLY a "why didn't I think of that?..." idea, and after wondering that, all I can say is that I wish I had these when my babies were actually babies!
    Great idea!
