All Tied Up

I have talked about how my son loves to  dressed up.  Well, when he saw the Easter Bunny wearing a bow tie he was begging me to make him one. Here's how I made it.

Supplies Needed:
  • Scrap fabric
  • Scissors
  • Velcro
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine

Cut 4 rectngles.
Cut 1 rectange 2" x 3" (tie)
Cut 1 rectangle 6" x 4" (bow)
Cut 1 rectangle 7" x 4" (bow)
Cut 1 rectangle 2" x measurement of neck plus 1" (band)

Fold longest rectanlge (band) hin half  right sides together and sew short edge and the long edge.
 Flip rightside out and iron.
Fold shortest rectangle (tie) in half and sew along long edge.  Flip rightside out and iron.
With remaining rectangle (bows) fold in half width wise so they 2" wide. Sew around all edges leaving an opening to turn it right side out. Flip right side out and iron.

Lay the 2 medium size rectangles smaller one on top of the bigger one.
Pinch the middle together with your finger and thumb.

Wrap the smallest rectangle around the middle and hand stitch ends together.

Sew velcro on each end of the band.

Slip band through the back of the bow tie.
