I love for Aiyanna to have festive hair bows for each holiday. If you have a little girl you know how expensive hair bows can be. It's hard for me to spend $10-$15 on two hair bows she is only going to be able to wear for a month! I thought I'd try to make her some hair bows from felt instead! Candy corn seemed like the perfect one to try!!! I love how it turned out.
Supplies Needed:
White, orange, and yellow felt
Wonder Under
Iron
Thread
Barrette or hair clip
Template
Here is the template. It should be 1 1/2" tall.
Cut your candy pieces out of the felt.
White on top, orange for the middle, and yellow for the bottom.
Cut out 4 pieces of white for the base and the back.
Trace template onto fusible webbing and cut out.
Iron onto the white base piece using medium heat.
You don't want to melt your felt.
Lay the candy corn pieces on top. Cover with a pressing cloth or towel and iron.
Just lay the iron on top. Don't move it or the felt pieces will get a little wonky.
Lay the candy corn on top of another base piece and sew or handstitch 1/8" from the edge.
Cut a slit in the back and slide barrette in or glue onto a hair clip.
You're finished. Such a quick simple project!
Here it is in action.
So cute! Love this! I'm featuring this on my blog's Inspiration for the Weekend today.
