Dakota has used this car seat since he was 18 months old. At first with the back on it and now just as a booster seat. This poor cover has definitely seen better days.
Some of these stains will not come out so I decided it was time for a new cover.
I bought this vinyl type fabric at Joann's a while back and thought it would be perfect. It has the texture of a basketball. And even better no more taking it apart and washing it. Never fails as soon as it goes in the wash we need to go to the store. if he spills something on it I can just wipe it off with a wet cloth. So much easier!
Here is the finished product.
Dakota LOVES it. He had to carry it out and put it in the car himself. He is so proud of his "new" car seat. And it makes my heart so happy that he loves it that much.
I am trying to make a tutorial for this one, but NO promises on this one. It's a little tricky. I just took his old one apart to figure out the pieces. I left the one right side together so I could see how the pieces went back together.
Well done! Great material too. I'm sure it is more stain proof than the original one. you inspire me. :)
ReplyDeletegreat job!! It came out so professional looking.

I am pretty much in awe of you! I did a carseat revamp a year ago and know how hard it is! You do such an amazing job and make everything look gorgeous! You have such a good eye for fabric and how to use it well! Thanks for all of the inspiration!
