Romper Revamp

I love this romper! I had bought this so Aiyanna could wear it on her birthday last year. The big day came and I put it on her and it didn't fit. The snaps at the crotch wouldn't stay snapped because the torso part was to short for her. (We all have long torso in this family). I was soooo frustrated!!! It's just been sitting in the top of her closet ever since.  I decided it was time to do something with it. I wanted her to be able to wear it so I turned it into a dress that she can wear now. Woohoo!!!

Step 1

I measured Aiyanna from her shoulders to her knees to figure out how long I wanted it to be.

I added 1.5" to allow for hemming. I cut the legs off at that measurement.

Step 2

I unsnapped the crotch and turned it inside out. I drew a straight line down the front and back where the fabric curves for the pants.

Step 3

 

Sew on the lines that were drawn.

After you sew it cut 1/4" from the stitch to get rid of the excess fabric. 

Step 4

For the hem fold up 1/4" at the bottom and then fold up 1" . Sew.
