Slipper Sew Along { Day 4 }

I am so glad you decided to join me this week for the Slipper Sew Along.
Wanna get in on it? It's not to late.
Just check out my previous posts from this week.
Today we are going to add the outer sole.
This can be a little tricky, but don't worry I have a few tips to make it easier.

Lay the top piece on top of the jiffy grip (I used suede) right sides together.
Matching the notches at the toes pin the toe area as pictured.

Now you are going to sew just from one notch to the other notch.

This is what it will look like.

Now you are going to sew down each side.
Sew from the notch to about 1" from the back seam.

I have made 4 pairs of slippers and the sole has always been bigger than the top piece.
It might just be because I am using suede instead of the jiffy grip. I'm not sure.
If you have this problem it's ok. It will be easy to fix.

I sewed around the heel. Next I'm going to cut off the extra.
Easy fix.  It doesn't change the slipper size. Mine fit perfectly.

Turn them right side out.

Now we are going to add the velcro. Sew the hook side onto the strap and the loop side onto the slipper.
Make sure sure to match the velcro up to the pattern marrkings.

Come back tomorrow and we'll finish them up!!!
See you in the morning!
